The course introduces all aspects of transactions that are affected between the two participants in the market, vis-à-vis the buyer’s side and the seller’s side, given that the modern financial markets are dominated by go-in-between entities known as financial intermediaries. The course discusses the financial institutions and their role in effecting such transactions, their roles in the financial market in relation to the wider macro economy, and the dual role of the Central Bank as regulator and facilitator. Aspects of innovations and growth in this sector, such as the IT revaluation are also discussed.
