The University of Papua New Guinea is an independent, statutory Institution of Higher Education, established by the University of Papua New Guinea Ordinance 1965, confirmed by the University of Papua New Guinea Act No. 18 of 1983. The University is dedicated to the pursuit, advancement, and dissemination of knowledge, understanding, and wisdom. Currently, the University has five Schools, offering more than 30 major programs for undergraduate, honours, and postgraduate students.
